Four years ago, with the support of the sector federation ADEB-VBA and seven major contractors, Conneqtr was founded. Their solution, Zen, which reduces administration on and around construction sites, was quickly embraced by industry leaders such as BESIX, Artes, Stadsbader, Denys, Litran, Wyckaert, Dethier, APK Group, Aertssen, Louis De Waele, Jan De Nul Group, and many others. Now, Conneqtr is launching a new feature that drastically reduces administrative burdens for subcontractors as well—an innovation developed at the request of contractors and subcontractors, perfectly aligned with Conneqtr’s mission: connecting the entire construction sector and enabling efficient collaboration.

“The new feature on Conneqtr’s Zen platform finally gives subcontractors control over their administration. This new function is not only useful, but also essential.”
The new feature on Conneqtr’s Zen platform finally gives subcontractors control over their administration. They receive a free environment where documents can be managed and shared with main contractors with one click—or automatically. This saves time, reduces errors, and minimizes delays. For subcontractors who also work with other subcontractors, the environment can be flexibly expanded.
This new feature is not only useful but essential. Over just four years, the Zen platform has grown from zero to 4,500 active subcontractors and contractors, 15–20% of whom are international—a clear sign that digitalization in construction is accelerating.
Zen is one of Conneqtr’s two products and increases compliance with social administration and safety from an average of 50% to 80% in under three months. It is integrated with the RSZ (National Social Security Office), addresses social dumping, and ensures efficiency on site: no more paper, and always the latest information available for the site manager. In addition, it seamlessly integrates with common access control systems on construction sites.
With subcontractors now able to easily access this technology, the entire construction chain benefits. A practical example? The “construction site of the century”: the Oosterweel project, one of Europe’s largest infrastructure projects. Here, the platform is used daily to smoothly manage the complex administration of hundreds of involved parties.
Veerle Vloors, Head of Access Management at main contractor ROCO, confirms:
“We greatly value our subcontractors who use Zen. Thanks to their accurate submission of documents via Zen, we, as the main contractor, always have all required worker documents on hand. Their use of the platform ensures smooth administrative flow and a clear overview on a complex site like the Oosterweel Connection.”
