What does it mean to be ISO 27001 certified?

"It means that our organization meets the international standard for information security. An independent audit validates that we systematically manage risks (such as personal data and intellectual property) and handle data confidentially. It’s not just ‘an IT thing,’ but a structured approach across our organization, our colleagues and our digital infrastructure."

That seems like a big deal to highlight, doesn’t it?

"Of course we’re proud of it. We can only applaud organizations that achieve such an ISO certificate. It’s a great goal to strive for, but it’s not an endpoint. We have it now, and yes, it makes our company more resilient and prepared in the event of a crisis. But cyberattacks keep evolving, and so must our security and compliance."

Can you give an example from the construction sector?

"Imagine you’re a construction company managing multiple projects and dozens of subcontractors. If a cyberattack occurs, project plans, contracts and client data are at risk, and financial systems can be disrupted. Data leaks, delays, reputational damage… the consequences are well known and can be severe — unless you are prepared and stay prepared.
