Brussels, March 26, 2024: The Belgian government is tightening safety regulations in the construction sector. The reason? The number of (serious) accidents on construction sites and elsewhere in the sector. The government aims to prevent these through certifications, regular inspections, and the basic safety certificate, which will be mandatory for everyone on site starting April 15, 2024.
When it comes to workplace accidents, attention often turns to the construction sector. Although the number of accidents in 2023 was “historically low,” even one accident is too many. There are already many mandatory protective measures and training programs, such as the basic safety course, for which the grace period ends on April 15. But every new rule also brings extra bureaucracy.
The introduction of this new requirement naturally brings greater safety, but also new and complex challenges. Think of extra paperwork, ensuring compliance, and the various rules and exceptions. All of these distract the construction sector from its main focus: building. To lighten this workload, more and more construction companies and contractors are turning to digital solutions.
One of these solutions is Conneqtr, founded in 2021 and already a partner of major players such as Stadsbader, Besix, Artes Group, Dethier, Wyckaert, Litran, Denys, APK, Group Jansen, and many others. The company offers a digital solution called Zen, which simplifies processes around safety certifications, compliance, and seamless integration with the government’s digital systems. This allows construction companies to ensure they meet all requirements during inspections, helping them avoid fines and reputational damage.

"The entire construction process improves when the team has the right digital tools."
